Amy Lysle Smart is an American actress and ex-fashion model, born on March 26, 1976 in Topanga, California. Her mother is a museum worker and her father a salesman. At age 13 she began modeling and three years later, when she turned 16, she started taking acting classes.

Her first role in a film came with Campfire Tales, directed by Martin Kunert which was followed by a role in "Starship Troopers" in 1997. She was cast in the 1999 hit teen movie "Outside Providence", starring Shawn Hatosy and Alec Baldwin. Supporting role in the 1999 movie "Varsity Blues" with James Van Der Beek and Paul Walker, got her more notice and she was soon cast in the TV show "Felicity", Ruby from 1999 until 2001. Some of her other mentionable roles are in movies such as "Road Trip" (2000), "Rat Race" (2001), "Starsky & Hutch" (2004), for which she received a nomination for "Best Kiss" at the MTV Music Awards, "The Butterfly Effect" (2004) and "Just Friends" (2005), with Ryan Reynolds.

In the 2006 film "Crank" she had the part of the lead character Chev's (Jason Statham) girlfriend. "Crank: High Voltage", the sequel to "Crank", came out in 2009, with Smart reprising her role of Eve. She was also part of the TV series "Scrubs" for four episodes and has lent her voice to an animated show called "Robot Chicken", created by her friend and colleague Seth Green.

She was named one of the sexiest and hottest women by magazines such as FHM, Maxim and Stuff. She has been a spokesperson for an organization called Heal the Bay also been involved with the Environmental Media Association and the Humane Society. Amy has been in a relationship with fellow actor Branden Williams for fifteen years.
